Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology, Branch Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses IZI-BBIn the field of point-of-care testing, Fraunhofer IZI-BB offers its customers and partners both the development of new analytical methods and the transfer of existing formats (e.g. ELISAs, DNA microarrays, etc.) to miniaturized formats. By means of specific surface modifications, analytical functions can be integrated into simple and cost-effective formats. The spectrum of possible analytes ranges from smallest molecules such as ions to unicellular organisms such as bacteria. Examples of applications are diagnostics for doctors' practices, clinics and home testing, and analytical products for the food industry, veterinary medicine and the environmental sector.
